Where on earth is this year going? It seems that 2018 is speeding by and not much can slow it down. Before I know it, another Monthly Must-haves is due.
March was a bit of a blur, but it did see me getting a new dog, a new coffee machine and of course, a lot of new makeup. Here is a little taste of the things that have made my March significantly better.
NYX Lip Lingerie in Corset
While this liquid lipstick wasn’t a new purchase, it was about ALL that I used on my lips in March. It is the perfect cool-toned nude for my skin, and I have fallen back in love with it after finally figuring out how to make the formula work for me.
I liberally layer on lipbalm before applying just the thinnest layer of the liquid lipstick. Once it has dried fully (which it does, like rock), I apply another layer of lipbalm and voila! Long-lasting lippie perfection!
Suki Suki Naturals Rosehip Brightening Facial Oil
I have been singing the praises of rosehip oil to anyone who sits still for long enough, and it is all due to THIS product.
I bought this from Suki Suki Natural’s skincare launch back in December, but had a bunch of other products I was trying out at the time, so it took me a few weeks to commit to this oil.
After about three months of using this oil every single night, I can’t explain how happy I am with the results. My skin is smooth and I no longer suffer from dry flare ups. The oil feels quite thick but hasn’t broken me out or clogged my pores.
As for the brightening effects, I do feel like my freckles have lightened but not dramatically. With consistent sunscreen use I think this would help even more.
Essence Camouflage Concealer in Ivory
This is some kind of industrial level concealer. It feels thin and it isn’t difficult to spread upon application, but it covers EVERYTHING.
It’s extremely affordable, as most Essence products are, and comes in very limited shades of Caucasian, as most Essence products do. Honestly, it’s frustrating to fall in love with a product, especially at such a great price point, when most of your subscribers can’t actually use it due to their limited shade range. It must be even more frustrating to be the subscriber who can’t use it…
John Frieda Frizz Eaze Extra Strength Serum
I’m not going to say all too much about this guy because I want to save it for a full review that I’m doing of a bunch of John Frieda items I purchased a while back.
I’ve been testing them by using only these products religiously for a few weeks. I can’t wait to share my thoughts as I really feel like I’ve found my ‘holy-grail’ drugstore haircare range.
The serum is lightweight and doesn’t make my hair get oilier than it normal would, which is so difficult to find in a hair serum. So far, so good, but stay tuned for the full article!
What grabbed your attention in the month of March? Should I start including items that aren’t related to beauty too? Let me know in the comments below or on Instagram, you can find me at @perilouslypale.
