Who doesn’t want long, luscious, thick, beautiful lashes? Boys, that’s who. Because those ungrateful creatures already have them. But as for the rest of us, there’s mascara, mascara primer, false lashes, tinting, extensions and lash serums that all aid in looking less mole rat and more Disney princess.
Here are my issues with the above methods: false lashes are a PAIN and not practical for (my) everyday use, tinting doesn’t help with length or thickness, even if it is quite inexpensive and extensions on the other hand cost a small fortune.
Serums have a whole unique set of problems. Most of them are quite expensive, and to invest anywhere between R300 and R1500 in a product you aren’t sure works is just not something most women will do.
So in all honesty, I am SUPER excited to try this serum! The South African importer of Grande Cosmetics, Wendy, sent me the brand’s best-seller, GrandeLash-MD. While the large majority of reviews I read online were positive, as they say, the proof is in the … eyelash… pudding.
About the Brand
Grande Cosmetics was started by a woman named Alicia Grande whose objective was to enhance one’s own beauty (as opposed to altering it through surgical or invasive procedures) by means of powerful, tried and tested products. As she grew older, developed formulas for items that would help slow down or halt the effects of age that she saw in her lips, lashes and brows. After being so happy with the results, she decided to share her formulas with the world.
Grande Cosmetics is currently available in South Africa through a few importers. One of whom is Wendy, from My Cherry Blossom Beauty. It’s very rare to meet someone who believes so much in a certain product, that they feel the need to spread the word to this extent in order for everyone else to experience the great results they have. That’s part of what intrigued me so much about GrandeLash-MD, Wendy speaks about it on her site with such conviction.
“I was not born with long, thick, dark lashes and so have always wanted them and have tried extensions and other products in the past, none of them worked and the extensions were just too expensive to maintain and I was not happy with the damage it was causing in the long run and when I took them off, my lashes were shorter than when I started! I discovered GrandeLASH-MD when I was visiting my friend in London in September 2013. When I saw her lashes I thought she had new lash extensions put on but she told me that it was this serum she had been using called GrandeLASH-MD. Some of the girls in her office at Goldman Sachs were using it too. I was so amazed with the results I contacted Grande Cosmetics immediately and started importing their products into South Africa”.
What it Claims to Do
The following results were taken from the Grande Cosmetics site, and were based on a 12 week trial.
- 100% reported GrandeLASH-MD was easy to use
- 97% reported more visible lashes
- 94% reported healthier looking lashes
- 91% reported longer looking lashes
What’s interesting about this specific serum is that it not only claims to lengthen and thicken like every other serum on the market, but it also claim to improve the health of the lashes you already have, which I thought was interesting as I have never seen a serum that has that additional aspect.

How to Buy it in South Africa
After a fairly extensive search, these are the following stockists I found in South Africa, I wanted to include this to show you guys that while I received mine for free from My Cherry Blossom Beauty (with no obligation to write a review, let alone an advertise), I do genuinely think that they are the best priced supplier.
Please note that it comes in two sizes, a 2ml (three month supply) and 4ml (six month supply). I found it quite difficult to see which option was being offered on some of these sites, but where possible, I have chosen the smallest size (2ml).
My Cherry Blossom Beauty: R620.00
Best Beauty Buy: R975.00
Import It All: R1 608.00
It is claimed to have results that show in 4-6 weeks, with the ‘full effect’ only being seen at three months. I will be updating you guys with weekly progress pictures, and then will have a final results discussion at the end of the three months.
Disclaimer: While I was not paid or obligated to review, or post about this product, I did receive it for free from Wendy at My Cherry Blossom Beauty.
