September Favourites

Goodbye September… all three days of you. It seems like as spring begins the year starts to end, at a very rapid pace. Despite the blur that was this month, I managed to stock up on quite a few delightful new products!

A fair number of brands released exciting products over the last couple of weeks, and we even had the launch of a major international makeup line, Makeup Revolution! I attended the launch, duh, and another awesome event in September, but more on that one later.

L.A. Girl Luminous Glow Skin Illuminator

I raved about the new release from L.A. Girl Cosmetics in the review I did on the range (which you can check out here). This primer-liquid-highlighter hybrid has been absolutely essential in achieving a glowy, dewy foundation look, and I’ve been reaching for it consistently during September, making it a sure favourite!

Here’s the review on the cream and powder highlighters from the range.

Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighter in Peach Lights

“Megan, how can this be a September favourite if Makeup Revolution only launched on the 28th?” you may ask. It’s just that good. Seriously.

This duochrome-y highlighter is my go-to at the moment. The texture is beautiful and doesn’t leave that powdery look on your cheeks when you layer it on. The glitter is very finely milled and goes on smoothly, so as to not leave harsh lines.

I am already planning on going back for the other shades in the range, and at R90, these may just take the number one spot the L.A. Girl highlighters hold for me.

I’ve written a long list of praises for the L.A. Girl highlighters that you can read here.

MAC Face and Body Foundation

This was part of a little haul I did with a friend during the CRAZY Edgar’s sale a few weeks back. I also picked up a Benefit blush palette and a lipstick, all at 37% off. No you read that correctly. 37% off.

As you all know, I lean towards lighter coverage foundations, and this has proved to suit my tastes perfectly. It is a spot on match for my skin tone, which can be quite difficult for me to achieve. The formula is very runny but the dropper bottle and ease with which the product spreads on my skin makes this forgivable. The sheer coverage I get is exactly what I want, and I have yet to find that this breaks me out or clogs my pores. All in all, it’s a definite favourite for me.

Nespresso Master Origin Range

Every day without fail I have a cup of coffee. And on most days, I’ll have multiple cups! So a great coffee is an absolute necessity, and Nespresso’s new range has delivered exactly that. I have been alternating between the Nicaragua, Colombia and Ethiopia variations, with my favourite so far being Nicaragua.

ELLE DECORATION Spring Trends Event

This event was absolutely gorgeous. I had the most amazing time, in the most amazing venue, with the most amazing brands. This was my first event after branching out into the lifestyle blogging industry, and what a welcome it was!

Interior design is one of those things that I can admire but do not have the eye for. I am so envious of those creatives who just have a knack for transforming a room.

My full post on the evening is up already, you can find it here!

What products caught your eye in September? I’d love to know, perhaps they’ll even make my favourites list for October. Find me on Instagram or Facebook and drop me a message.
