KiKi Beauty First Impressions

KiKi Beauty, where have you been all my life? This beautiful brand combines all of the things I love the most: beauty, skincare, pretty packaging, sweet smells and almost constant sales.

While I haven’t tried out all of their products (yet), I’ve thoroughly enjoyed ones I have. Read on to hear my first impressions.

Natural Radiance Moisturizer 50ml – R365.00

I first used KiKi Beauty’s Natural Radiance Moisturizer when I received some samples in one of my purchases from them. Then I was lucky enough to win a giveaway from pinkbubblesblog (Valencia) and this was included!

The moisturiser is thin and a liiitle lacking in hydration for my dry skin, but even so I have been enjoying it immensely. It comes in a little tube and is small enough to pop into a handbag.

The greatest selling point for the KiKi Beauty moisturiser is that it works very well under makeup. Using this in conjunction with the primer creates the perfect base for a flawless foundation finish.

Face Primer 50ml – R400.00

This product was the most surprising of the ones I tried. It also arrived in my giveaway prize from Valencia, and dare I say it… it may be the reason I start believing in primers.

KiKi Beauty’s Face Primer comes in a pump bottle that turns open and closed, which makes traveling convenient because it isn’t at risk of spilling in your bag.

The formula is thin and absorbs easily into the skin. I like that it doesn’t change the coverage or texture of products I layer on top, unless I use more than one pump for my whole face, I’ve found that less is more when it comes to this guy.

Recently I wrote about how I think primers are bogus, I might have to retract that statement.

Rose Dew Setting Spray 100ml – R250.00

The pink, shiny bottle of the Rose Dew setting spray has a fine mist that doesn’t over-wet your face. The product has an addictive Turkish delight smell that has seen my four year old niece use half the bottle in a few weeks.

I find that setting sprays aren’t as great at actually making makeup last longer as they are at setting and smoothing the finish of the makeup. The KiKi Beauty spray helps the powders mix and blend better, giving a more natural look.

It’s also amazing for spraying onto synthetic brushes in order to pack on glitter eyeshadows.

Rose Wax Lip Balm 15ml – R180.00

It’s rosy and it’s waxy and it’s amazing. Never did I think I would ever find a lip balm I could truly declare a favourite, but here we are.

KiKi Beauty’s lip balm is a bit tinted and smells like rosy, sugary bliss. What I like most about it, is its texture. It has a sticky consistency that doesn’t feel like its melting on your lips, so it’s nice for before bed because it lasts the whole night.

Next on my KiKi Beauty ‘lust list’ is their Volcanic Gold Face Exfoliator and Radiance Powder Face Wash. Let me know in the comments below if you’ve tried any KiKi Beauty products, and which ones are worth grabbing next!
