November Favourites

And another month of 2018 has flown by. While this month felt more like a couple of days than a full month, I still managed to gather up quite a few beauty November favourites.

Most items were existing purchases because I’ve been trying to use up the products I have in my collection before I purchase new ones (I know, I know, cue the laughter). Anyway, read on to see what I enjoyed this November.

Essence Born Awesome Palette

This sneaky surprise of a palette is my number one November favourite. I received this Essence product in a giveaway from Valencia (pinkbubblesblog) a few weeks ago, and I’ve been obsessed with it ever since.

The colour selection is warm-toned with one pan of blue. There’s a highlighter, a blush, a band a selection of eyeshadows, which makes it the perfect palette for travel. The shades are multi-purpose, and the blush makes a beautiful transition shade.

Fortunately, the Born Awesome palette is still in stock on many Essence stands, and if there was one thing I would suggest picking up this month, it would be this.

WoW Cosmetics also makes great quality, inexpensive palettes, you can see one of my reviews on their palettes here.

L.A. Girl ProCoverage HD Foundation

For months and months I have read nothing but fantastic reviews about the L.A. Girl ProCoverage HD Foundation. I bought the lightest shade (Fair) a few months ago, but Fair was simply not fair enough, and I had to get the white foundation to mix with it.

Now that I have both, I can finally wear it, and I’ve been enjoying it very much ever since. The foundation is very dewy, wet even. It doesn’t set very well, so oily girls beware.  That being said, it’s a dream for my dry skin, and I can wear it comfortably during the day and night.

What I like about this product is that it’s fairly inexpensive, its packaging is convenient, it’s cruelty-free and you’re able to customise your shade with the help of the white foundation. This means that no matter what the season, I am able ensure that I have the perfect shade of foundation, making it not just a November favourite, but an all-year-round winner.

Another great foundation for oily skin is MAC’s Face and Body, which I spoke about in my September Favourites post.

Lush Scrub Scrub Scrub Shower Scrub

Love at very first whiff. Its part menthol, part blackberry and all indulgence. I grabbed this scrub when it was released with Lush’s Halloween collection, but I am super chuffed to know it will be stocked permanently.

The scrub has activated charcoal and salt crystals, making it a soft yet efficient exfoliator. The scrub also lathers quite nicely, and leaves a subtle, delicious smell on your skin. I absolutely love this product, and will definitely be repurchasing it!

Benefit Gold Rush Blush

Why oh why is this blush only a mini? Everything about this Benefit product is incredible, from the shade, to the glimmer, to the scent. I am already on the hunt for this November favourite in the full-size.

Gold Rush is a peachy wash of colour that goes so well with my complexion. It isn’t orange, and it isn’t pink, it’s a perfect mix in between, and goes with lots of possible eye looks.

I got this mini in a set with a whole bunch of other Benefit powders. The set was a steal, and I’ve enjoyed using each of the powders so much, such good value for money! They have been my favourites each month since I bought them, I’ve already stocked up on a palette with full sizes of all (except this one).

I like to use the L.A. Girl Illuminator with this blush for an equally subtle glow.

L’Oréal Lash Paradise

The hype is real, let me just say that. This mascara is phenomenal! It’s been another product I have heard rave reviews about and it also lives up to its cult status!

This product is intensely black in colour and coats the lashes quite easily. It’s useful to make a smoky-eye even more smoky. Each lash is separated and volume is added without any clumping.

I use the normal version, but there is both a waterproof version and a lash primer. If you are looking for a cruelty-free option, Essence’s I Heart Crazy Volume is quite similar, and also a firm favourite of mine.

One of my top things to do is discovering other people’s beauty favourites, so if you have a product I need to try, let me know in the comments below or on Instagram!
